we spent several weekends at fort adams this summer. besides the newport folk festival we also spent an afternoon at surf fest v hosted by local legend sid abbruzzi. sid is the owner of waterbrothers a long standing surf outfit in newport, ri. and where i purchased my first skateboard. sid recently has been nominated into the east coast surfing hall of fame and with events like surf fest it is well deserved. the event includes a sea of vintage surf boards, vintage skateboards, 1/2 pipe contests, 3/4 pipe, live music, old skool beach mobiles, rad ventures like weird wood and grain surfboards, food trucks and all the coconut water you could drink. what more could anyone ask for?. here are a few photos from the day.
