keith and i are trying to stick to the want, need, wear, read gift giving concept with a little twist on that for the little one. i especially like to keep it simple for our cub, because his birthday is super close to christmas and i like to purchasing a few extra things for him in the middle of the year whether it is due to season changes or i see something that i know he will enjoy. for our cub we have ride, play, wear, read. ride, i wanted to wait on a skateboard, but he keeps asking for one, howls with joy if he spots one on the street and pretends to be on one regularly so when i spotted the cutest penny boards on etsy i cracked. read, of course, i can't resist a good theme book gift. this land is your land is one of his favorite songs we sing before bed. play, the vintage dutch memory game was a find. it includes all the pieces and price was great. i think he will love looking at the illustrations and playing. wear, i wait for jcrew to mark down their kids lambs wool sweater and have a sale on top of that to purchase this winter staple. we splurge and get it embroidered with his initials… can you say cuteness.      

want | need | wear | read

need, new kicks since my foot has grown a little in the past few years. size sevens are just a little too short for this girl lately. read, honestly i don't think i have made it through a book since kingston was born. i could use a good one to get me motivated. wear, i have really been working to simplify my jewelry. i own a ton and haven't worn most of it in forever, but i do wear studs daily. you can't go wrong with a pair of real gold studs that go with everything and the best part is you don't have to take them off to shower. want, anything from farm house pottery out of vermont. their online store has me drooling. everything is so beautiful… and a little pricey, but these pots, scissors and pine candle are a few of my picks. my favorite candle is a good pine scent as long as its clean burning.

want | need | wear | read

wear, keith has been wanting this llbean signature sweater for quite a while. read, the man love to cook. i'm not complaining. need, leather key ring fob. his keys chew holes in his pockets. want, a small pocket knife to carry daily. my husband is not easy to shop for which i think i have mentioned in the past. he either wants some obscure thing i can never find or tells me about something he would like days before christmas so i keep a running wish list for him on my amazon account and collect ideas through out the year. i actually do this for kingston, my nephews, myself and a few others we buy for around the holidays. most years the lists works out great and helps me remember quality over quantity and helps reduce my holiday stress level.

our gift purchasing continues here at camp anywhere. next up are gifts for the husband. i usually find him hard to shop for but this year has been very easy. not sure if it's the want, need, wear, read theme we got going on this year but whatever it is i like it. want: keith has been wanting to brew beer ever since i can remember. the growing popularity of brewing at home has many small brewing companies offering brewing starter kits. big timber brewing company out of saco, maine offers an affordable brew kit which is perfect for a first timer. i'm excited. need: several years ago i gifted kieth a deadstock velcro wallet from the eighties for valentines day. i didn't realize the dimensions were super small when purchasing it so when it arrived i was a little sad thinking he would not like the petite version of what i had in mind. however, he loved it. he claims he no longer has wallet budge. there is no room for non-necessities. recently his beloved wallet has become a little on the holey side. we both love frank clegg leatherworks so this year i thought i would surprise him with one of frank clegg's pieces. bonus. frank's workshop is super local to us. we try our best around here to support local business. wear: men's shirt are always the best. i wish they made the same shirts for women. this cozy fleece lined flannel from llbean is no exception. i love the buffalo check and it's perfect for the guy that hates wearing a winter coat. read: a beer brewing kit would not be complete without a good book. how to brew is apparently the must have book for home brewing according to our local brew masters. i can't wait for the first batch.

Gifts For Him Under The Tree

i find men are the hardest to buy for so all through the year i try to make mental notes of things that keith might like. we only purchase a few gifts for each other so i like them to be well thought out. keith and i have been wearing rope bracelet for a long as i can remember. i love the classic two dollar shrink to your wrist ones. since they have become more popular again i am always on the hunt for a more unique look. keil james patrick, made locally in rhode island, offers many great nautical styles. they are not two dollars, but well worth it the price if they become a permit fixture on your man's wrist like mine. next up. cardigans, cardigans once keith wore one several winters ago he has never looked back. he is quite rough on clothing so i like to get him one nice warm cardigan each year. along with cardigans this boy loves his coffee. we are big fans of the french press, but have been dying to experiment with the slow drip process. he is partially found of new harvest coffee roasters, another one of our rhode island favorites that offers the chemex pour-over brewer in multiple sizes. keith has also been looking into is beard and mustache care products. he can't seem to commit to purchase so i think i will do it for him. and finally, he likes to cook. who am i to argue. what will you be purchasing for the male in your life this year?
